The PILL-5 is a validated questionnaire to determine if someone has difficulty swallowing pills.1 The 5-item questionnaire has a maximum symptom score of 20. A PILL-5 score > 6 suggests that the person may have abnormal swallowing and should discuss the results with their doctor.
